Joseph Anthony Adame is a native and resident of Corpus Christi, Texas. Joe and his wife Kathy have been married for fifty years. They have three sons Chris, Mark and Jarrett and five grandchildren.
He graduated from Corpus Christi Academy, attended Del Mar and received a BBA from Sam Houston State University in 1969.
Mr. Adame served two terms as Mayor of Corpus Christi and retired as Mayor in November 2012. As Mayor he served as Region XX President of Texas Municipal League, Metropolitan Planning Organization, the Corpus Christi Convention and Visitor Bureau, Texas State Aquarium and the South Texas Botanical Gardens and Nature Center.
As a businessman and community leader Joe Adame served on the Corpus Christi Housing Authority, Airport Advisory Board, Regional Transportation Authority, Del Mar College Foundation, Spohn Christus Development Foundation, Leadership Corpus Christi Class XI and initiated the Annual Leadership Prayer Breakfast in 1989.
In 1995 Mr. Adame received the Lone Star William Jennings Award from the Texas Association of Realtors for the most outstanding Commercial Real Estate Transaction of the year. In 1997 Texas Governor George W. Bush appointed Mr. Adame to serve on the Texas Real Estate Center Advisory Committee at Texas A&M College Station and served from 1997 -2006. The Junior Achievement of Corpus Christi inducted Mr. Adame into the Business Hall of Fame in 2008.
